StarStarStarStarStar Sturdy, compact, versatile

Pros:  Simple, clean, nearly bulletproof.
Cons:  Interference with charging and volume controls.

OK, as noted in other reviews, the left side clamp will reduce your volume setting to zero if you squeeze it too tight. This one is simple: just dont squeeze so hard when adjusting the clamps. In fact, the foam pads that actually hold the phone are so compliant and grippy that the Pre stays put with almost no pressure adjust it once and slip the phone in and out forever without releasing the clamp, or worrying about the Pre falling out.

Also, seemingly the only way to charge the Pre+ in this holder is: First, thread the charging wire through the hole in the right side clamp, then plug it into the phone, finally insert the phone and connector into the holder taking care not to damage the little connector door. Oh yeah, please pull over before you attempt this stunt..But wait! (see below).

And now, the Third Way: Use a TouchStone. If you flip the iGrip phone holder over by moving the little support feet to the other end (i.e. install it upside down), it will hold a TouchStone quite securely. Clamp the TouchStone so the Palm logo reads inverted (wire coming off the bottom).

Now just stick the phone to the TouchStone. It charges fine, stays put on bumpy roads, and doesnt fall off even if when I turn off the ignition or unplug the charger for some reason.
The Palm Car Charger runs the TouchStone just fine.

We all know the Pre+ does not have great battery life in a car, especially if you use Nav services & BlueTooth headset but goofy as it sounds, this trick works.

Pros:  None.
Cons:  Doesnt stick to dashboard design of mount blocks charger.

While the Palm Pre technically does fit into this mount, its very difficult to do so if its plugged into a charger. You have to widen the mount arms to their widest setting, feed the charger cable through the tiny hole in the right mount arm, plug in the charger cable, then tighten the mount arm. (If youre not using a charger, the Pre slides right in.) Of course, this is largely due to the poor placement of the micro USB port on the Pre, but a product thats specifically advertised as working with the Pre should be better accomodating.

But even if I didnt need to use it with a charger, this mount is completely useless because it wont stick to the dash! Neither the suction cup nor the "self-adhesive power-disc" adhered to the dash of my Toyota Prius. Maybe I applied the disc incorrectly? Its impossible to know--no directions were supplied with the product!
