StarStarStarStarStar Phenomenal!
User: Jonathan Snyder, Jan 21, 2010
I had no trouble putting it on. I do have a small "blemish" off screen which does not bother me at all.

Otherwise it has been completely scratch resistant for 2 months and is the BEST protector I have used by far across various phones!
StarStarStarStarStar Great for the Palm Pre
User: MARK CAMPBELL, Dec 29, 2009

Pros:  Great Product
Cons:  Need alot of patience to put on

Great product, air bubbles disapate after 24 hours, Its worth the $12 to have Best Buy put it on for you they will have it done in like 30 mins. Forms to the phone dont even notice its there. Come with a great life-time warranty definitely worth the investment if you wanna keep you phone looking brand-new.
StarStarStarStarStar Very Good Product....way overpriced!!!
User: Nick Howard, Dec 27, 2009

Pros:  Definitely adds more grip, significantly reduces fingerprint smudge
Cons:  Lots of liquid solution involved....

I bought the shield for my Pre because I wasnt so sure how the plastic touchscreen would hold up. Back in the day, I had an iphone with a glass screen and left the screen naked. I opted to install the shield myself rather than pay best buy, as many have suggested. Honestly, installation was dead simple. After watching a couple of youtube videos the main consensus is to douse the invisishield in the application solution. The most tedious (aka not hard!) part of installation was the bottom and top corners, they did not want to stay down. All in all it took me about 15-20 min to install. All in all it adds more grip, great protection and really reduces the smudges. Also it is definitely overpriced...should be .50

NOTE: There is a lot of liquid solution involved and if you dont want to risk frying your pre I highly suggest removing the battery. After installation I did see some of the application solution around the battery cover.
StarStarStarStarStar Great Product- installation tips below
User: Evan Lema, Oct 16, 2009

Pros:  amazing protection, helps allow you to stop babying the phone
Cons:  can be tricky to apply

as others have noted, it can be tricky to apply. it is definitely worth the money though, as it offers amazing scratch protection to the screen.

APPLICATION ADVICE:

1- first off, if you read the directions it notes that you can refill the sponge container with water 3 times and it still retains perfect install quality. this is useful if esp. if it takes more then one attempt to get it on as you need more liquid. so have some ready to pour into the container

2-the main part of the shield clings easily, however it can be hard to keep the small edge parts clinging to the phone while it dries. WRAP THE PHONE IN THE PROVIDED MICROFIBER CLOTH. place the phone screen side down on the cloth, and then wrap the cloth up around the back of the phone with tension. while holding it in place, use scotch tape to secure the cloth. the soft cloth held tight on all sides around the phone while it dries keeps the hard to manage edge pieces in place.

it took me 4 attempts to get it lined up perfectly, but through these tricks i got a perfect installation.

i use mine in addition to the seido innocase, so the phone is 100 protected. I can treat it like a cheap flip phone and there is never any damage

good luck hope this helps

StarStarStarStarStar Excellent Product but a pain to put on!!!
User: Francesca Aiello, Oct 4, 2009

Pros:  Amazing Once Installed!!
Cons:  The included applicator sponge & Non-squeegee

Okay, so I just bought my Palm Pre and was very excited about the full-body invisible shield they offered. I washed my hands as instructed, and came to find this wierd little sponge. I attempted to put on the face cover, and wow. The card thing that comes included as the squeegee (cheap and not functional) Not happening. I gave up for two days. Then, I decided that I had calmed down and had a little more patience, and I found an old kit from my previous phone the instinct which included a spray bottle of the solution, as well as an actual squeegee. I first applied the backside, and then the front and was absolutely AMAZED!!! There are a couple of tricks I would recommend. 1. Completely soak the shield before application 2. Trim the edges just a little bit (even though mine is pretty well aligned, I can see how I shouldve trimmed the edges just a tad bit 3. Wait for about 2 minutes before attempting to stick the sides of the shield to the phone. It needs to set a little bit- so do the front and back side flat parts first, then wait for the sides. I just did this today, and as the hours go on, the phone is truly looking better and better. I am very happy with it and look forward to the future months to come. My main recommendation is to find another kit with the spray bottle and actual squeegee!!! Best of luck friends!!
StarStarStarStarStar Great Skin
User: Jason Crawford, Aug 31, 2009

Pros:  Glad they included two skins
Cons:  Hard to install

A bit expensive for plastic film, though I love having it installed. I did it myself and was happy to find that it was not that hard to install. Take some time and make sure you do it well -- and DO NOT let the skin touch anything but the device or wet hands...

Great product and would buy it again.
StarStarStarStarStar Great Product
User: Chris B, Aug 15, 2009

Pros:  Highly durable, works great
Cons:  having to put it, not to bad though

I bought 2 of these one for each my wife and I. We used the full body shield. I was able to apply it to the first phone pretty well and the second phone was 95 perfect. They give a little better grip to the phone. This comes in handy since my wife drops her phone a lot. It lets me know that when my phone is in my pocket I don’t have to worry about key or coins scratching the screen.

The true test came when one of my dogs used the phone for a chew toy. :( (Good thing for insurance)
After I took off the invisi shield so I could send the phone back, there was not a single scratch on the phone. It worked wonders, unfortunately the screen was broken could only be better if it would have saved our phone from being chewed.

I could not be happier with this product and would recommend it to everyone.
StarStarStarStarStar invisiblesheild is amazing
User: c b, Aug 4, 2009

Pros:  perfectly fluch and unoticable once dried
Cons:  instalation needs to be carefully planned

This is by far the best screen protector i have ever had on any device. Once it has dried out it is perfectly flush and is unnoticeable. I was shocked at how amazing everything turned out.

Installation requires careful planning. Make sure you have at least 12 hours of downtime with the phone. Do everything on the package that it recommends when installing. Dont worry about little bubbles. They go away within a week as the plastic dries out and conforms to your phone.

I feel like a did a poor job of installing but after a week all the bubbles were gone and it looks like i did a superb job of installing. I cant believe how flush it is. It truly feels like its a part of the phone. It is very very strong too.
StarStarStarStarStar Another try
User: Les Orchard, Jul 31, 2009

Pros:  Unscratchable, grippier, free warranty replacements!
Cons:  Grippier, installation still difficult, but easier with spray bottle

So, after a warranty replacement, my installation went much smoother. This time, it came with a spray bottle instead of a sponge, which worked much better.

The gory details of my 2nd attempt of installation: I did indeed take a shower, though I dried off and dressed before doing the deed. With the bathroom still a little steamy, I got out the skin, doused it and my hands with the spray bottle, then applied it to the Pre. This time, it went on as smooth as the videos online depict. No lint to speak of in the air or on my hands, so nothing visible but liquid and air was trapped under the skin. Squeegeed it all off, let the thing dry, and now its near perfect.

User: Bo Go, Jul 30, 2009

Pros:  I keep my Pre in my pocket with my keys
Cons:  -

Best Buy recommended this and strongly suggested I pay them $5-10 to put it on as it can be hard. So, they put it on - I recommend having Geek Squad install it. I really like the cover, it is great protection, no scratches and I dont have to baby the Pre.
StarStarStarStarStar Great screen protector
User: N A, Mar 12, 2010
The invisible shield is a wonderful protector for the screen. I installed it myself using a rubbing alcohol/water mix and blow dryer. Its optically clear and provides excellent scratch protection. After a few days all small application irregularities (bubbles, etc) vanish and if installed correctly, nothing else is required. You can throw your phone in your pocket, purse whatever with no worries. I trimmed the shield down on the sides (the part that covers the sides and front and rear corners) as its unnecessary IMO and makes the installation that much harder. Ive installed automotive clear bras and headlight film so this was pretty straight forward. Just keep your fingers wet with the solution and the phone wet and you will be allright.
StarStarStarStarStar Sponge Sucks
User: Chris Thompson, Jan 16, 2010

Pros:  As advertised, almost invisible.
Cons:  Tedious install not for the faint of heart.

I didnt actually order this item from Pre Central, but found the full-body protection on sale at a local Best Buy. Ive only installed the front, as I seek out another touchstone kit.

As others have mentioned, the install can be an arduous process. It took me two hours of applying, peeling parts back, reapplying and rubbing out bubbles of air AND fluid. I managed to keep my fingers wet and was able to rub out any greasy fingerprints on the adhesive side or on the phone using the sponge. I was also able to do the same with any larger pieces of dust or lint I detected before laying the film down.

My great results are only due to my exceeding patience and perfectionist tendencies. Still, there are some small pieces of dust and lint under the plastic only visible on flat backgrounds like a blank page in the memo app. This is only due to the repeated use of the sponge in trying to keep the film adequately wet. Unfortunately, the sponge often soaks up as much liquid as it leaves behind, or simply moves fluid around like a squeegee.

The bottom line is if you are impatient or easily frustrated, leave the install to someone else. If youre going to do it yourself, see if you can get a kit with spray bottle as the sponge and all the stupidity that accompanies it is what keeps this product from a flawless rating.

To my mind any issues other commenters have regarding clarity must come down to a poor installation. Im quite pleased with how it came out, but annoyed it took so much effort to get there.
StarStarStarStarStar great protection...
User: J Rahn, Jan 10, 2010
Fast shipping to midwest. Does what it says it will do, great protection, nothings getting through to the phone. My only complaint is I thought it would be more clear, just on the screen, its obvious there is a screen protecter on. Friend commented that it looks like a display phone. Adds good grip as well. Easy install, go into the bathroom and turn on the shower for the steam and apply, soak everything with the liquid, follow instructions provided, real easy. Would rate 5 for quality but like I said wish it was more clear but what can you expect.
StarStarStarStarStar Great Idea but it aint that pretty
User: D Everett, Nov 5, 2009

Pros:  you can once again just throw your phone in your pocket
Cons:  protects from scatches but makes phone look like its already 2 yeears old

After having it professionally installed and paying over 30 bucks for the complete package. I thought to myself, I have protected my phone from scratches therefore preserving its beauty, but the IS makes the phone look aged, so what have I really accomplished? I guess when I show friends the phone I can say, "It looks much better when the shield is off but Im protecting it right now, lol."
Heres an example you guys can relate to - its like going out with a swimsuit model but keeping her under wrap all the time so she doesnt damage her skin, now do you understand what I mean...
Whats the point? So in 2 years I can take it off and go, wowww, my phone looks good, then sell it on eBay, so the next guy gets a brand new looking phone, but for two years I kept the plastic on it.
Also if you are very meticulous and do have the ability to work on projects that do take some patients, then do it yourself, because after I got it done by the people at Best Buy, I came home took it off and redid it. That fixed most of the problems I had with it but all in all its just like reapplying the plastic you took off the phone when you opened the box...
StarStarStarStarStar Short-lived
User: Rob Stewart, Nov 18, 2010

Pros:  Easy install
Cons:  Edges peel off

Pretty indestructible for the face, but the little side corners were the first to go and then the edges of the face started and now about 6+ months later Im looking to get a replacement. Guess it wouldnt be so bad if you did use a snug slip in case.
StarStarStarStarStar Not IMPRESSED.
User: Lexington Lozada, Mar 23, 2010

Pros:  Goes on easily. Definitely protects.
Cons:  Too thick. Bubbles are impossible to smooth out completely. Practically a dust magnet.

I am not pleased with the fact that the screen protector is a thick film that clings on to dust easily. I dont like the feel of it, the material nor the fact that I cant seem to smooth out the air bubbles no matter how hard I try. Considering how thick the material is, Im sure it will do the trick in protecting my screen from scratches and so on. However, I have friends with awesome screen protectors for other phones that arent as thick or clings to dust as easily as this one does. Its more annoying than it is useful. It is because of this that I gave it a 3 out of 5.
StarStarStarStarStar Not worth doing yourself
User: Lucas Butler, Feb 4, 2010

Pros:  Good protection
Cons:  Medium skill required for smooth install

Does a good job protecting the front of the phone from scratches. I found the install to be a little difficult, but nothing too bad.

I do have obvious visible waves in the plastic from trying to get it all smoothed out flat.

I have found that the touch sensitivity is really reduced by putting this on. Not anything major, but annoying to have to swipe several times to unlock phone, or having to hit icons twice to launch a program.

I took my wifes phone down to the local mall, and had Ghost Armor put on at the store. for the price it was worth it ($20). Versus buying online + shipping + DIY install frustration.
StarStarStarStarStar Even on the pros and cons
User: Julie Beshara, Dec 14, 2009

Pros:  protects like a magic forcefield
Cons:  difficult to install, affects aesthetics

This cover does protect like magic and it is well worth the cost (which includes a lifetime warranty), and it does not adversely affect the touch screen as far as touch goes. However, it takes away a lot of the aesthetics by creating this jelly-like, bumpy surface over the cover. The phone is sleek, but the cover takes that away. Its also rather difficult to install, and any mistakes in installation will be visible forever, again detracting from the phones aesthetics. When installing this cover, have a little cup of filtered/bottled water ready to constantly have your hands, the squeegee/sponge, and cover wet. Make sure there are no animals or other people around that could move and create flying dust. Overall, I love the protection, but I dont like the look.
StarStarStarStarStar Hard to install, but seems sturdy..
User: Micah Stevens, Nov 1, 2009

Pros:  Relatively inexpensive, does seem to offer some protection.
Cons:  Really hard to get on without it looking like a bad tint job, edges lift easily after some use.

The idea is good, and it works better than other stick-on screen protectors Ive used, but installing it is very much like putting tint on your car windows, theres a reason why you dont buy the stuff at the auto parts store and do it yourself. I had to peel it up several times and try again.

Dont be afraid to get it too wet, its easier if its really really moist, but of course be careful of soaking your pre too much.

The curved edges refuse to go down, I think thats just something Ill have to live with. Ohwell, maybe Ill get the rubber cover thing.
StarStarStarStarStar Impossible to install

This product is a one chance deal so you better not make a mistake. I tried to get a refund, which you are lead to believe you can get for any reason. Forget it. Dont waste your money.
StarStarStarStarStar protects...
User: mary smith, Oct 10, 2009

Pros:  definitely feel that front of pre is protected
Cons:  leaves pre "not as pretty" not as smooth a touch on the touch screen

This is definitely a quality product, and Im pretty sure I did an awesome job at applying it to my pre and didnt get any bubbles on the phone, but it is very slightly uneven and thus left 2 spots on the corners of the phone that wont go down all the way. Anyway, I feel like the front of the phone isnt as "pretty" anymore - its not as smooth (theres a bumpiness you can see when you let light reflect off of the phone that makes me sad.).

Im even thinking of taking this off my phone because the feel to the touch screen isnt as smooth as it once was. Fortunately, it looks like its easy to take off. If you dont mind this very minor bumpiness, it certainly protects the screen with minimal interference to the phones appearance and thickness.
StarStarStarStarStar Difficult installation, reduced clarity
User: Les Orchard, Jul 23, 2009

Pros:  Hard to align, multiple misaligned attempts pick up lint from the air, lint-free sections offer reduced clarity
Cons:  Nothings getting through this film, device is easier to grip and slide, no reduced touch sensitivity

It took me at least 6 attempts to get this thing aligned right and applied without bubbles. By that point, the sticky side had accumulated all the drifting motes of dust in the air it could, along with a few stray fibers Id ejected from my own clothing. These fibers and dust specs look as bad as scratches might, and the clear bits of the film offer reduced clarity to boot.

The best advice Ive heard is to take a shower, and then while still nude and while theres still steam in the air to battle the lint, try applying the film. Next best thing would be a hazmat suit in a clean room.

Also, all the tutorials Ive seen on the web portray this product as having shipped with a spray bottle of fluid for wetting fingers and the film to dampen the stickiness and ease the smoothing of bubbles. That looked pretty nice—mine came with a dampened sponge, which was less than satisfactory in wetting my fingers and the film without actually sticking to it.
StarStarStarStarStar Good protection, difficult to install
User: Steve Nelson, Jul 23, 2009

Pros:  Very strong material does not affect the functionality of the touch screen
Cons:  frustrating to apply some small bubbles still exist picks up finger grease and smudges as bad as the Pre face

Installation is difficult its hard to find a good ratio of wetness to apply to the film without soaking the face of your phone. It took me several attempts just to have it line up with the face of the Pre. I am very concerned about damaging the touch screen and this material holds up very well. However, you can easily tell a plastic film is on the phone and it just doesnt look as nice. There is a slight wavy pattern to the film, which doesnt affect the sensitivity of the touch screen and it barely registers under your touch, but it is there and does affect the aesthetics of the phone at certain angles to the light. It takes a while to dry enough to get all the edges to stick, but once they do, it stays firmly on the phone. Overall, this is great to get if you are concerned about damage and not as worried about aesthetics. I would recommend taking it to someone who is used to applying these screen protectors though. However, if looks are more what you are worried about then skip buying this. I purchased one for my wife as well, but she didnt like how my phone looked with the screen protector on and she wont use it.
StarStarStarStarStar Solid Feel But Looks Affected
User: Brian Stranahan, Jul 16, 2009

Pros:  Very Good Protection - Still good Screen Sensitivity
Cons:  A Project to Install - Does Detract "slightly" from Screen

My first suggestion - Do not install yourself if you can avoid it. I did read all the posts, FAQs, and saw the online video. 4 days ago I went to a dust free room of the house and began install. Afraid of sponging on too much liquid, I used too little. Dont make that mistake an the Shield or when wetting the phone face. I had to partially remove the Shield(IS) a couple of times to re-center and remove bubbles. Although I had a few larger bubbles they seem to be going away. But I do have one corner that looks like crackle paint and I think it may be a partial fingerprint. The problem is it is difficult to keep remembering to rewet your fingers everytime you may touch the bottom (sticky side) of the IS. TIP: Let the corner wings dry for abot 20 minutes before you even try to do them and then they are easy. When done and viewed from the front it looks good. When viewed from an angle in the light the surface does show a water wave type texture. Ihave this same material on my headlights(doing them I didnt have to worry about too much wetting fluid)) and I do know it is as tough a material as they claim. If the install wasnt so difficult I would rate it a 5. Just remember - use plenty of solution and blot the phone holes as you go.
StarStarStarStarStar Invisible Shield
User: Kenneth Oxley, Jan 13, 2011

Pros:  -
Cons:  Very hard to put on, messy

This shield is very hard to put on and still leaves the bubbles way after 72 hours.
StarStarStarStarStar Impossible with sponge
User: Matthew Kent, Apr 14, 2010
I have installed InvisibleShield on other phones, but with the spray lubricant. aLSO, IT SEEMS The shield that came with the sponge was impossibly sticky. Is the shield that comes with the spray less sticky? I dont know, but my InvisibleShield is now in the trashcan. Too expensive to be that hard to install! gET THE SPONGE MODEL, DONT BOTHER.
StarStarStarStarStar Protection, but affects performance
User: Bruce H, Nov 3, 2009

Pros:  Tough & scratch resistant
Cons:  Affects function of button, appearance

I purchased the screen only cover but the wrap-around was in the container, so I went ahead and used it. Installation was tricky as everyone has said, but it is on with no visible marks other than the lines caused by my pulling it back up to let out bubbles that wouldnt move. It does affect the function of the button--it seems to register as contact on the screen so that the button will not cause the application to minimize or close. This worked right before installation and has not since (about six weeks).
StarStarStarStarStar Warning: Will Get Ugly
User: Ryan G, May 10, 2010

Pros:  Kinda Protects Screen Well
Cons:  Can get nicks, gets really ugly!

Buy a screen protector that is only for the screen itself, not the whole front of the phone!

Explanation:
Screen protectors are great. But the pre is curved and this cover tries to confrom to these curves. it will work, but there will be a small gap on the edges on the corners of the device. Over time they will get dirt in them and stuff (just from going in-and-out of pockets). The little edge-y curve things (on all the corners of the screen) will lose their stick and start to peel off and turn ugly. i cut mine off but it is still gross.

Its still pretty nice, but if it was just the very front of the phone and not the "sides of the front" if you know what I mean, it would be better.
StarStarStarStarStar no luck
User: Dave Zandan, Dec 21, 2009

Pros:  Difficult to install properly and would not recommend
Cons:  -

did not appear to be a practical solution to the problem of protecting the screen. Not an attractive solution and wish I could get my money back.
StarStarStarStarStar obscures screen
User: mary smith, Oct 29, 2009

Pros:  protects
Cons:  at cost of obscured screen and bumpiness

As others said, theres a bumpiness that comes from the liquid underneath the shield. It really annoys me because the screen is just not smooth anymore.

Mostly, though, the shield is not perfectly even in terms of the amount of thickness across it - there are lines that go down the shield that visually stretch lines of pixels on the screen. this makes the screen look not as good as it is. Also I feel like the screen is not as responsive as it was before.

The phone just isnt as pretty as it once was, plus this is really expensive for 1 piece of plastic. There arent any bubbles, though, and you dont have to worry about getting fingerprints on the screen.
StarStarStarStarStar It does "Shield"
User: Ed Kurek, Oct 3, 2009

Pros:  Sticks to plastic well, is abrasion resistant
Cons:  Not a smooth application, not crystal clear

Does it shield the phone -Yes..... and if thats the main quality i was looking for then id give it a rating of 5, however I expect for a piece of $15 plastic this would be more then just protection.

This cover is difficult to apply, and 100 bubble free is virtually impossible - but the worst part is that even when applied correctly, it still reduces the clarity of the picture on the Pre. For $15 it should be invisible (no pun intended).

Anyone in manufacturing or engineering will tell you the packaging and advertising cost more then the actual plastic cover itself. The advertising is a lot of hype.

PROS: Plastic is very ductile and resists scratches well, hence it doesnt need to be changed as often as a very clear (acrylic type) cover. Invisible Shield offers lifetime replacement guarentee..... if you take the time to do the paperwork, etc.
StarStarStarStarStar Impossible to put on and little specks get caught inside
User: Sean Duke-Crocker, Sep 2, 2009

Pros:  None
Cons:  Very tricky to attach, must leave alone for 12 hours after applying

I bought this to protect my new pres screen. I tried to attach it and was unable. The instructions are garbage and there are too many small pieces that get stuck to eachother. You also only get one shot at applying it, so dont let a small speck get stuck inside it or its ruined. I bought some basic screen protectors from sprint and they do the trick at 1/2 the cost. I would have returned the item but I would have lost $$ in the deal.
