Pros: charges both spare battery and handset simultaneously
Cons: the oddness of the existence of the stylus
Pros: Lots to like for the money!
Cons: None yet for the money!
Pros: Looks Good on Desktop, Charges Spare Battery and Phone at same time.
Cons: Spare Battery Slot is Tight Fit for Seidio Batteries
The other reviews seem to be right on the money.
The newer version of this product they seemed to correct the charging problem and now this cradle charges a spare battery and the phone at the same time off the AC adapter alone.
Previous versions you had to have the USB plugged into the PALM PRE to charge the phone. The AC adapter only charged the Spare Battery. That is corrected now and the AC Adapter will charge BOTH at same time.
I have no idea why they included a Stylus since it does not work with the PALM PRE and is not needed. It looks cool lit up in Blue, but again why they have it is beyond me. I use it to pop the Spare Battery out of the slot.
The spare battery port will fit Seidio and Palm batteries, but it is a tight fit as others have mentioned. I use the Stylus to pop out the battery. I have the 1350mPH Seidio and the 2600 mPH Seidio and the slot charges both just fine. They made the slot like 1 mm too small and therefore putting in a battery to charge in the Spare slot is tight, but it does fit. Getting it out with the stylus works good for me.
Overall for $25 this is a great purchase and it works as advertised. I paid $59 for the Palm 755P cradle.
Pros: -
Cons: no instruction sheet
Pros: charges Palm and Seidio 1350 batteries
Cons: Seidio battery is tight fit
I discovered an unexpected benefit this week while out of town at a conference. I plugged my Pre into the micro USB connector on the cradle, and the Pre battery began charging. But I hadnt plugged the cradle into my laptop yet, so according to the instructions my Pre should not have been charging.
Not sure how/why this is happening, but Ive been able to charge my Pre this way all week. (My spare battery was in the cradle charging from the AC outlet while the Pre was getting its charge through the cradles micro USB.) Maybe somebody from Seidio can leave a note about this functionality?
