Dont expect miracles, but it is definitely better...
User: Dan Ramirez, Jul 5, 2009
Pros: Slightly better battery life, can use original cover. Works with Touchstone charger. Good to have a spare.
Cons: Not a shocking improvement from original, so dont expect it.
I had rather cautious optimism concerning this battery, and it turns out that it neither impressed nor disappointed me. As such I give it 4/5 stars. I can now get through the day with my Palm Pre not dying, but I had better have the charger waiting for me when I get home at the end of the day! If youre looking for amazing "Treo-like" battery life, better to opt for Seidios DOUBLE CAPACITY battery, which will require a new cover (included), and increase the thickness of the Pre by a couple millimeters.
The Palm Pre is an amazing device, but a spare battery is almost a required accessory. This Seidio extended battery makes a good primary... just be sure to have the original battery as a standby spare for long trips.
*Note: I have read that the PALM brand spare battery charger will not charge this battery. However, Seidio has a nice solution which charges both your phone and spare battery.

Better, but $45? I think not..

Pros: Works better, lasts longer right from the start
Cons: Too much money $30 would be more appropriate.
OK, I learned one new thing from the other reviews: the phone will reset if the battery is loose. But in my case, the STOCK battery was apparently the culprit my phone would randomly reset several times a day until I installed the Seidio battery.
I bought this Seidio not so much for the advertised (small) increase in nominal capacity but rather because of the "matched cell" claim. I have some experience with building battery packs, and I know that taking the trouble to bench-test individual cells and matching and selecting the best for assembly in a pack can often provide a 20-30 improvement in performance. Why? A battery is only as good as its weakest cell once that one drops below the line the rest cannot power the phone.
Of course, matching (and culling) individual cells can easily double the cost of assembling a pack..and I had to take it on faith that Seidio had indeed done this extra work.
In my case, they seem to have done so. Is it worth it? Depends on how important it is to have that extra time..
One more thing I found that this battery gets hella hot if I leave it on the Touchstone long-term. For some reason the phone seems to have trouble detecting full charge and will apparently keep initiating the high current charge rate.
Now if I want to do an overnight conditioning charge I use the plug, which doesnt seem to cause that problem.
The Touchstone charges it in a couple of hours, then I promptly remove the phone.

Failed

Pros: longer charge
Cons: failed after 2 weeks, can void warranty, (possibly damage phone?)
The promise sounded good: a charge that would last more than day. SO, when I got one and charged it up, thats what I got: more than a day. However, after 2 week, my pre just stopped turning on, even plugged in. I happened to be passing the local sprint store right after I noticed the problem so brought it in and after looking at it they said the battery had failed and put in a fresh battery that worked fine. They cautioned me against putting the failed battery back in as it could damage the phone and said that normally when they find a 3rd party battery in the phone they cancel the warranty.
So, if youre having problems, try your old battery before taking it to Sprint and dont take it there with this battery in it.
