StarStarStarStarStar works great
User: J Cooper, Oct 12, 2011

Pros:  adds a little extra life
Cons:  none

Works perfect as a replacement for an aging original battery.
StarStarStarStarStar Great Battery for Pre
User: John Yurkon, Aug 5, 2011

Pros:  Long life
Cons:  none

After first charge it had nearly double the life of my original stock Pre battery!
StarStarStarStarStar Great delivery
User: Kimberlee Ballenger, Jun 16, 2011

Pros:  arrival was timely and accurate
Cons:  -

I am very pleased with the extended life battery for my palm pre. in fact, the life of this battery is double of what I experienced with the battery that came installed on my phone.
StarStarStarStarStar Very good battery!
User: Bob D, Jan 17, 2011

Pros:  Extra battery life
Cons:  None

This extended battery is definitely worth the price. It adds the extra life the description says it will.
StarStarStarStarStar Fantastic deal (but not for you)
User: somline somline, Sep 10, 2010

Pros:  500 profit for Seidio
Cons:  500 loss for you

At least 60 of these batteries are in fact 1150 mAh batteries as the stock palm batteries.
Please check this battery after purchase with the app "Dr.Battery" and send it back if it not reads 1350mAh.
StarStarStarStarStar The Extra Juice I Needed
User: Alice Carback, Apr 3, 2010

Pros:  Can still use Touchstone
Cons:  Not more than some other batteries

This is the extra bit of power Ive been looking for. I love it!
StarStarStarStarStar ATTN. THose who had problems.
User: Logan Goodwill, Feb 18, 2010

Pros:  Extended battery life, longer data and gps use.
Cons:  -

I am a long time user of the pre, and i also work for sprint. You must remember these batteries are lithium ion which means it has a straight battery slope (it means it has a long battery life that stays constant until an eventual drop off. a sliding battery life i.e. alkaline gradually lowers battery life after all uses) the only way to reach a full charge on these is to let them charge completely and die COMPLETELY. Once you do this you will reach your batterys full potential, usually raising battery life by upwards of 15. if your still having trouble with your battery life download gps toggle and data toggle (homebrew apps) these can literally double your battery life by turning them off while unused.
StarStarStarStarStar Does what it says on the tin
User: Tony Gies, Jan 8, 2010
Its worth pointing out that, while the capacity of this battery is only 17 greater than the stock battery, you can expect greater than 17 increase in operating time owing to the characteristics of batteries as they discharge.
StarStarStarStarStar 36 hours of use and Im still at 73!
User: Robert Gibbs, Nov 12, 2009
I charged it when I first got it overnight and am now 36 hours into the battery life and am only at 73! I am not a constant user, but I text a lot and when I am at home will use the WiFi connection to check out the app store and other stuff like links on email. What a HUGE difference! Yeah, its a little thicker, but a fantastic trade off!
StarStarStarStarStar Great!
User: Phil Glod, Aug 18, 2009

Pros:  after 5th cycle it gave me much better performance than normal battery, idle time is the most noticiable, 4-5 more hours of idle time
Cons:  may need to place a spacer to secure battery to precvent resets

The construction on some batteries may require you to place a homemade spacer to secure the battery and prevent resets. I am still giving 5 stars because of the overwhelming improvement of idle time i got from it, 5 hours. and easily 1 hour or more hours of continuous use (music and internet)
StarStarStarStarStar Does the job!
User: Carter Patterson, Jul 2, 2009
This is a must have for any Pre owner as it adds significantly to the amount of time you need to have before recharging. I used to have to keep a touchstone at my office and keep my Pre fully charged at all times. Now, I dont worry about it.
StarStarStarStarStar 17 percent better battery sign me up
User: devon dougherty, Jun 26, 2009
200 Ma more than the standard battery has to to be an hour or two more than the standard, sign me up. :D
StarStarStarStarStar Big improvement over the original
User: xvlfaf xvlfaf, Sep 28, 2010

Pros:  lasts all day for me
Cons:  touchstone charging is inconsistent

If you use a touchstone charger then you might find it flakey and inconsistent. Mine charges up then drains down if left on the touchstone all night. I just went back to plugging it in overnight.
StarStarStarStarStar good buy, not a great buy
User: Tom Brown, Sep 8, 2009
This is a good addition to the Pre, but still not great battery life....
StarStarStarStarStar Dont expect miracles, but it is definitely better...
User: Dan Ramirez, Jul 5, 2009

Pros:  Slightly better battery life, can use original cover. Works with Touchstone charger. Good to have a spare.
Cons:  Not a shocking improvement from original, so dont expect it.

I had rather cautious optimism concerning this battery, and it turns out that it neither impressed nor disappointed me. As such I give it 4/5 stars. I can now get through the day with my Palm Pre not dying, but I had better have the charger waiting for me when I get home at the end of the day! If youre looking for amazing "Treo-like" battery life, better to opt for Seidios DOUBLE CAPACITY battery, which will require a new cover (included), and increase the thickness of the Pre by a couple millimeters.

The Palm Pre is an amazing device, but a spare battery is almost a required accessory. This Seidio extended battery makes a good primary... just be sure to have the original battery as a standby spare for long trips.

*Note: I have read that the PALM brand spare battery charger will not charge this battery. However, Seidio has a nice solution which charges both your phone and spare battery.
StarStarStarStarStar YOU NEED THIS
User: Me NotYou, Jun 23, 2009
ABSOLUTE MUST FOR THE PRE
StarStarStarStarStar Better, but $45? I think not..
User: Brett Anthony, Jan 24, 2011

Pros:  Works better, lasts longer right from the start
Cons:  Too much money $30 would be more appropriate.

OK, I learned one new thing from the other reviews: the phone will reset if the battery is loose. But in my case, the STOCK battery was apparently the culprit my phone would randomly reset several times a day until I installed the Seidio battery.

I bought this Seidio not so much for the advertised (small) increase in nominal capacity but rather because of the "matched cell" claim. I have some experience with building battery packs, and I know that taking the trouble to bench-test individual cells and matching and selecting the best for assembly in a pack can often provide a 20-30 improvement in performance. Why? A battery is only as good as its weakest cell once that one drops below the line the rest cannot power the phone.

Of course, matching (and culling) individual cells can easily double the cost of assembling a pack..and I had to take it on faith that Seidio had indeed done this extra work.

In my case, they seem to have done so. Is it worth it? Depends on how important it is to have that extra time..

One more thing I found that this battery gets hella hot if I leave it on the Touchstone long-term. For some reason the phone seems to have trouble detecting full charge and will apparently keep initiating the high current charge rate.

Now if I want to do an overnight conditioning charge I use the plug, which doesnt seem to cause that problem.

The Touchstone charges it in a couple of hours, then I promptly remove the phone.
StarStarStarStarStar Customers Opinion
User: Mari SanAntonio, Aug 9, 2009

Pros:  extra battery to use
Cons:  charging all the time

I would have to say that i am very disappointed with this suppose to be "extended life" battery. It seems that my original Palm Battery is more efficient and reliable. The instruction says that you have to charge it at least 8 hrs for initial use and you can charge it about 5-6 times to get to full extended battery life. I disagree. i have used and compared both palm and Seidio.... winner: Palm.
Prove me wrong Seidio, because its not worth $44.95
StarStarStarStarStar not worth the purchase...
User: Robert Maupin, Apr 22, 2010

Pros:  design is fine, no power-offs, good fit
Cons:  not any better than a standard battery

Never got the life that everyone has been bragging about. I bought it about a month ago and gets about the same usage as the standard battery did. I might get 30 mins more of Pandora but thats about it! No issues with the design, no random shut offs or power downs, so that part is fine. I would not have purchased this product if I knew I knew it was about the same life.
StarStarStarStarStar Dissapointing
User: T C, Apr 15, 2010

Pros:  Works as well as a standard battery
Cons:  Indicated 1150 MaH and performed as such

After several e-mails and phone calls to Seidio, they determined I received a faulty battery, so well see if the replacement is any better. Im happy they are replacing it, but disappointed for obvious reasons.
StarStarStarStarStar Dissappointed
User: Keith Megilligan, Feb 6, 2010
Hate to say it, but since I purchased the battery it hasnt delivered either power or durability. Last two days its even dropped in power as the battery was being charged! Going back to the old Palm reliable.
StarStarStarStarStar Failed
User: M M, Dec 14, 2009

Pros:  longer charge
Cons:  failed after 2 weeks, can void warranty, (possibly damage phone?)

The promise sounded good: a charge that would last more than day. SO, when I got one and charged it up, thats what I got: more than a day. However, after 2 week, my pre just stopped turning on, even plugged in. I happened to be passing the local sprint store right after I noticed the problem so brought it in and after looking at it they said the battery had failed and put in a fresh battery that worked fine. They cautioned me against putting the failed battery back in as it could damage the phone and said that normally when they find a 3rd party battery in the phone they cancel the warranty.
So, if youre having problems, try your old battery before taking it to Sprint and dont take it there with this battery in it.
StarStarStarStarStar Works well for awhile, then diminished capacity
User: Roland McIntosh, Dec 8, 2009

Pros:  -
Cons:  Seems to have limited recharge cycles

Ive had this battery for several months now and have noticed that it no longer seems to provide as much extra boost as it used to. Im concerned that the capacity diminishes quickly after as few as 50 discharge cycles.

The extra juice is nice, while it lasts.
StarStarStarStarStar Okay - but not better
User: Terri Sorel, Sep 2, 2009

Pros:  fits in phone perfectly
Cons:  does not add extra life compared to palm original one

I purchased this battery with the intention of using it as the primary battery for my pre, and keeping the original as a spare. After a week of use, it became obvious that this battery did not last any longer than the original one. It is fine as a back up battery, but I wish I had not spent the extra money and had just gotten the standard one as a replacement.
StarStarStarStarStar Seido KIlled my Palm
User: Daniel Kogan, Aug 26, 2009

Pros:  Longer Life
Cons:  After a few weeks it overheated my phone

I just got back from a sprint store because I had to swap out my phone for overheating. They told me it was from my Seido Battery. The palm pre comes with a battery it can handle and the new Seidio 1350 mAh Battery is too much for it too handle thus overheating my phone, making it reboot and so on. If you want ur phone to work well, just get another Palm pre battery and swap.
StarStarStarStarStar not really extended life
User: david thomas, Aug 6, 2009
I recommend getting an extra standard battery with a charger. This "extended" battery, for 25 more money only give you maybe an extra 10 extra life per day. They say it gets better w more charges, but I have not found that to be true.
StarStarStarStarStar Very disappointed
User: Richard Rosenblatt, Aug 13, 2011

Pros:  -
Cons:  No better battery life than original

Expensive and not in the least worth it!
StarStarStarStarStar This is a waste of money!
User: Deb Connell, Nov 16, 2010
I was really looking forward to not having to charge my phone 8 hours after I took it off the charger every morning. This battery is not much better than the original one that came with my Palm Pre Plus. Now I get 10 hours of use before I have to charge it, hardly worth the expense!
StarStarStarStarStar Disappointing at best
User: Bailey Liipfert, Sep 1, 2010

Pros:  Nice Label
Cons:  1350 mAh accurate?

Seidio needs to respond to question concerning this product in the forums. It appears the 1350 mAh battery I bought last year was really a standard battery. Precentral should remove it until the issues in the forums concerning the battery being 1150 mAh are adequately addressed. I have been a long-term customer of Seidio and will not buy another product without a public explanation by Seidio.
StarStarStarStarStar Capacity not 1350 mAh
User: J Peters, Aug 23, 2010

Pros:  Fits standard Pre battery compartment
Cons:  LOW battery capacity

The extended battery is an excellent idea for the Pre, but a number of these Seidio batteries have proven to have only the stock 1150 mAh rating and not the extended 1350. This was recently discovered by somline and others by reading the actual battery registers that are recorded by the battery manufacturer inside the battery - and the Pre reads these upon boot up. I read the registers of mine and it was only a 1150 mAh battery.
StarStarStarStarStar ome (most ?) of these batteries are actual 1150mAh batteries.
User: somline somline, Aug 14, 2010

Pros:  none
Cons:  its a probably a fake

We have proofed, that some (most ?) of the Seidio 1350mAh for Palm batteries are actually 1150mAh batteries.
We did this by reading the full value in the EEPROM memory block at register 6A and 6B from integrated Fuel Gauge IC Dallas Semiconductor MAXIM DS2784.
This value is the original rating of the capacity set by the manufacturer and not altered by the device or battery later.

StarStarStarStarStar Sorry I bought this Battery
User: Tom Tobin, Feb 28, 2010
Im sorry I bought this battery. Several problems with it. I dont detect any longer charge time. Also, the battery really heats up when on the touchstone. I also noticed that the battery doesnt fit as tightly as the palm original and sometimes I lose contact and I have to reseat the battery to gain contact and then of course wait for the Pre to reboot.

I am concerned about the heat issue and I dont think this is good for the phone. The original palm battery does not do that on the touchstone or when Im using the phone.
StarStarStarStarStar IT DONīT WORKS FOR ME
User: Blk PRE, Jan 3, 2010
AFTER 6 RECHARGES ANY CHANGES, IT STILL DISCHARGE TOO FAST
StarStarStarStarStar Let down
User: Mike O, Dec 7, 2009
Dunno if I received a bum battery or what but the performance is a huge letdown. After a full week of use, it seems to drain faster than the standard batter. Ive been texting far more but even with little use in the morning, it drops to 95 almost immediately then drains fast throughout the day...only thing I can think of is that the battery hack on my phone is reading wrong.
StarStarStarStarStar Buy the Palm Battery.
User: Rob H, Nov 18, 2009
Pre will turn off around 90 battery charge but will say the battery is almost empty.
StarStarStarStarStar do difference
User: nicky rap, Oct 29, 2009
i have experienced absolutely no difference from original battery, im experiencing mad buyers remorse. My dumbass didnt keep the original packing in order to send back and get a refund. Oh well, you live and learn. Next time Ill be sure to read all the reviews (bad ones included) before purchasing.
StarStarStarStarStar Not seeing the "Extended Life."
User: Anthony Billing, Sep 14, 2009

Pros:  None
Cons:  I paid extra for this battery and it doesnt seem to work.

After multiple charging sessions I am still not seeing a significant improvement in battery life when compared to the factory Palm battery. DONt WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!
StarStarStarStarStar Doesnt fit properly
User: jeff lefebvre, Sep 2, 2009

Pros:  -
Cons:  Phone will turn off when jolted even slightly.

My phone would power off every time I closed the slider. Put original battery back in and it no long happens. I think this battery is sized improperly and fits loosely. If knocked at all it loses contact with the battery contacts and shuts off. Had to return the product.
StarStarStarStarStar Phone Shuts down with this Battery
User: Jimmy Menke, Aug 12, 2009

Pros:  none
Cons:  NOT reliable

I just got this battery yesterday. Charged it up for 8 hours, as instructed, and put it in last night. After leaving phone on charger all night, the battery was down to 50 within 3 hours with light usage. More significantly, the phone randomly shut down on me 2 times, as I was pulling up an application. Ive had the Palm Pre for 6 weeks now, and have had ZERO problems until I put this battery in.

I am getting a standard Pre Battery for my switch-out / back-up battery.

StarStarStarStarStar Not real happy yet
User: Pat OBrien, Jul 13, 2009

Pros:  Somewhat better life...lets me switch out batteries
Cons:  Phone randomly just shuts off

I am hoping that it is just a fluke but my phone keep shutting off with this battery. I will get it replaced and update again
