Pros: Simple, solid construction, not too bulky, works face in or face out
Cons: Locking tab sometimes hangs up in slider gap
The cutouts for the speaker and camera lens and flash are nice touches which allow use of these phone features without removing the Pre from the holster. I also like the fact that the headset jack is accessible.
Im an EMT and I use the holster when Im on duty because I like having my phone readily available, whether for a quick call to Medical Control or to research patient medications or medical histories via ePocrates or a quick web search. So far the holster has held up well to all the bumps and jostling of hanging off a duty belt for well over a year.
The one complaint I have about the holster is that its a little tough to use one-handed. Once I failed to get the holsters securing tab completely engaged because it got caught in the gap between the Pres two halves. The phone got bumped while I was removing a patient from the ambulance and hit the asphalt parking lot. My fault, not the holsters, but you do need to make sure the tab is fully engaged on the outside edge of the phone. The stiff security tab can also make it awkward to holster the phone one-handed. Removing the Pre from the holster one-handed is a pretty simple operation just depress the tab with your index finger while grasping either side of the phone with your thumb and remaining fingers.
Overall this holster is a great value for the money. Its a third the cost of the Seidio holster and functions just as well. Thats a hard deal to beat.
Pros: Phone can be stored either face in or face out comfortably. Holster is thinner and less bulky than other models. Securely holds phone. Doesnt apear to squeeze or put undue stress on the pre or slider.
Cons: Phone cant slide open while in holster.
This simple holster lets the phone face in (when I have it hooked to my belt), or face out (when I have it clipped to my car dash doesnt come with a mount for this, my car just has a spot for this for navigation and everything else)...both directions it holds the phone fine and doesnt put any pressure on separate halves of the slider. It doesnt have the fuzz on the inside to protect the face but its clean plastic inside does not appear to be at risk of scratching my screen.
Since it doesnt use a spring clip to hold the phone in, it is simpler and in my opinion easier to get the phone in and out of, while feeling very secure when it is mounted. There are holes through it for the speaker, camera, and flash if you have it mounted face out. I am able to access the volume and power buttons, headphone jack, and usb connection both when its face in and face out in this holster. Also, when its face in, you can, should you want to, mount the Pre to your touchstone without removing it from the holster (maybe to block out the screen light at night?). The clip covers the ringer switch when holstered face in.
Overall, it takes up less real-estate, it is lighter than others, and functions just the way I wanted. The only draw backs are, you cant open the slider when it is mounted (common to most holsters), and the clip that hooks to your belt is as usual, bulky by my standards and can rub into your side (but much less than my first Pre holster).
So, if youre looking for a simple holster that can hold the Pre both face in or face out (with touchstone back plate), this is an excellent choice.
Pros: Easy entry and exit, face in or face out, light
Cons: Phone pops out occassionally, not compatible with Touchstone for face out
Im mostly happy with it as it is better than the leather cases that make it almost impossible to quickly get to your phone.
Pros: Non..was broken before i could use it.
Cons: See Pros
Pros: Lightweight and nice design
Cons: Made cheaply
